Montreal Young Bar: Andrei Pascu named Lawyer of the Year for Pro bono community outreach

McMillan is pleased to announce that Andrei Pascu, litigator in McMillan’s Montréal office, has received the Lawyer of the year award – category Pro bono/Social involvement, given by the Montreal Young Bar.  After a rigorous review process, the jury, composed of the Chief Justices of all levels of Court of the Province of Québec and renowned lawyers, selected Andrei’s candidacy. Andrei received the award Wednesday at the Young Bar’s Annual Gala.

Andrei is the firm’s representative with Pro Bono Québec. He has successfully taken on pro bono cases and is actively involved with several community and outreach organizations namely G.R.I.S.-Montréal to contribute to fight bullying and change the perception of homosexuality and bisexuality in schools and artsScène Montréal to promote and foster bilateral relations between the arts and business worlds.

Andrei said Pro bono work has become an integral part of who he is as a lawyer. He hopes that by shining a light on the many professionals that contribute to their community, the award should help inspire others to find their calling and contribute to building a better society.

“I am extremely grateful for being a recipient of this award. This award is important as it reminds us the value of taking on a social cause and leading it with passion,” said Andrei. “What struck me while working with the G.R.I.S.-Montréal, whose mission is to fight bullying and change the perception of homosexuality and bisexuality in schools, is the immediate and tangible impact of the work of our organization on the ground.”
