On July 1, 2016, Thoma Bravo, LLC, a leading U.S. private equity investment firm, announced it had entered into an agreement with TRADER Corporation (TRADER) in which it would purchase, from funds advised by Apax Partners, the Canadian digital automotive marketplace provider for approximately C$1.575B billion.

Thoma Bravo retained a McMillan team to work alongside Kirkland & Ellis LLP. The McMillan Team was lead by Michael Whitcombe and Sandra Sbrocchi (M&A), Todd Miller (tax), Peter Giddens (IP), Alan Laking (IP), Casey Halladay (regulatory), Lyndsay Wasser (privacy), Paul Boshyk (employment), David Ross (real estate), David Thring (financing) and Maria Sagan (financing).

The acquisition is expected to close by the end of the year and is subject to customary closing conditions.
