Century Iron Mines Corporation wins 2014 Gold Business Excellence Award for Chinese Investment in Canada

We wish to congratulate Century Iron Mines Corporation who recently was honoured with the 2014 Gold Business Excellence Award for Chinese Investment in Canada. CEO Sandy Chim was presented with the prestigious award at the Annual Gala Luncheon hosted by the Canada China Business Council in Toronto.

Century Iron Mines, being one of three finalists, won the award that recognizes organizations who have demonstrated ingenuity, success, leadership and commitment involving inbound investment from China, contributing to bilateral economic growth and international success for the company.

A team of McMillan lawyers led by Stephen Wortley and Michael Taylor assisted Century Iron Mines with its listing on the Toronto Stock Exchange in 2011. Century Iron Mines completed a total of $115 million in private placement financings in connection with its listing that included a $61 million investment by WISCO International Resources Development & Investment (WISCO) and a $12 million investment by Minmetals Exploration & Development. McMillan has since assisted Century Iron Mines in completing joint venture agreements with WISCO, as its strategic partner, which have provided an additional $80 million in financing for Century Iron Mines' projects. The Company has significant interests in several properties in western Québec and in the prolific iron ore-producing region of the Labrador Trough in eastern Québec and western Newfoundland and Labrador.

Century Iron Mines is also the recipient of the 2014 Explorer of the Year Award, granted by the Newfoundland Labrador branch of CIM (Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum. The award recognizes the significant advancements in iron ore resource development and exploration at the Joyce Lake DSO ("Direct Shipping Ore") deposit, which is 100% owned by Labec Century and located in Newfoundland and Labrador.
