Emily is an associate in McMillan’s Financial Services Group. She is building a practice that focuses on a broad range of debt financing transactions, including construction and commercial real estate financing, as well as corporate restructurings. 

Emily joined the firm in 2016 as a summer student and completed her articles with the firm in 2018. She received her J.D. at Western University in London, Ontario. During law school, Emily was an Associate Caseworker at Western Law’s Legal Aid Clinic and volunteered with a number of extra-curricular organizations, where she held various leadership positions.

Emily has published articles relating to DIP financing, statutory deemed trusts and competing priorities in bankruptcies and insolvencies.

Prior to attending law school, Emily obtained her Bachelor of Arts in philosophy at the University of British Columbia.
