As a qualified lawyer in both China and Canada (BC), Fang has varied cross-border investments and dispute resolution experience. She assists clients with matters involving investing and doing business in Canada as well as market entry to China.
Fang articled with McMillan in 2018 and is now a practicing lawyer and a strategic advisor in the China Practice Group. Prior to joining the firm, Fang practiced Chinese law for over 20 years, focusing on international litigation and arbitration. In the later years, Fang worked primarily as a consultant for Chinese clients seeking legal services in Canada.
Fang is fluent in English, Mandarin, and South Fujian dialect (Taiwanese). Fang obtained her Bachelor of Law degree from Xiamen University (China), Master of Law degree from the University of London (UK), and Master of Law degree from the University of British Columbia.
Her education background of both civil law and common law coupled with her working experience in Canada and China has made Fang a bilingual in the sense of legal systems, as well as the languages. She has routinely assisted Chinese clients with their difficulties in understanding legal issues due to a different culture and legal system background.
