No smooth track to China for Bombardier; Takeover rumors

Competition and International Trade Law groups Co-Chair Neil Campbell was recently quoted in National Post article: "No smooth track to China for Bombardier; Takeover rumors." As rumours swirl around the potential takeover of the Quebec company, Campbell says if Bombardier, which division is headquartered in Berlin, supported a takeover, it would not face resistance from the federal government and Ottawa would approve the deal. He goes on to say, "This deal is not going to happen unless Bombardier becomes a willing seller, but if you have a willing seller then some of the reasons for potential opposition are likely to go away." In a statement issued on April 10, the company's executive chairman Beaudoin has said Bombardier Transportation is not for sale.
