Congratulations to Peter Giddens, Co-Chair of McMillan's Intellectual Property Group, who has accepted the International Trademark Association (INTA) leadership position of Vice Chair of the Trademark Office Practices Committee for the 2016-2017 Committee Term. This follows Peter's four-year tenure as Chair of the INTA TOPC-Canada subcommittee and puts Peter in line to be the Chair of that Committee in 2018-2019.

INTA is the global association of trademark owners and professionals dedicated to supporting trademarks and related intellectual property in order to protect consumers and to promote fair and effective commerce. INTA's Trademark Office Practices Committee (TOPC) consists of ten subcommittees focused on promoting relationships with trademark offices in Africa, the Asia-Pacific region, Canada, China, Europe national offices, India, Latin America, Madrid, the EU (Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market) and the United States. Peter's appointment to a leadership position with INTA is a significant honour, which acknowledges Peter's hard work and expertise.
