On September 23, 2011, following receipt of approval under the Competition Act (Canada), the Insurance Companies Act (Canada) and an Act Respecting Insurance (Québec), AXA SA and Intact Financial Corporation completed the purchase and sale of AXA Canada Inc. and its subsidiaries to Intact for approximately C$2.6 billion.

AXA SA was represented internally by George Stansfield, Group General Counsel, Helen Browne, Senior Vice President, Law and Bruno Brochet and in Canada by McMillan LLP with a team in Toronto and Montréal that primarily included Bob Cranston.
