On April 14, 2022, Metrolinx and Infrastructure Ontario, together with ONxpress Transportation Partners, reached Commercial Close in respect of the GO Rail Expansion On Corridor Project for the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Region, marking the start of the Project’s Development Phase.  ONxpress Transportation Partners, the multinational consortium formed by Aecon Concessions, Deutsche Bahn International Operations GmbH, ALSTOM Holdings S.A. and FCC Construccion S.A., will design, build, operate and maintain the GO Rail infrastructure and trains, including all works that facilitate train service, such as track, civil infrastructure, signalling, electrification infrastructure and electric vehicles, as well as the operations and maintenance of the GO rail network:.

The On Corridor Works Project is the largest capital infrastructure project in Metrolinx’s historic GO Rail Expansion program. The Project represents the most ambitious infrastructure project undertaken by the Government of Ontario and will transform the regional rail network with electrification, more frequent service, shorter journey times and a more modernized system for the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Region.
