On April 9, 2024, ProAmpac completed its previously annoucned acquisition of Gelpac Inc., including Gelpac Inc.’s Canadian subsidiaries, Gelpac Poly Inc., Gelpac Bags Inc. (French name Gelpac Sacs Inc.) and Meca-Services Inc. (collectively, “Gelpac”).

The acquisition will allow the two organizations to combine their efforts to allow better service of customers in high-growth food and beverage, agriculture, industrial and pharmaceutical end-markets across Canada and the United States.

ProAmpac, a jointly owned company by Prtizker Private Capital, is a leading global flexible packaging manufacturer and in material science.

Gelpac, with manufacturing facilities in Quebec and Ontario, is a premier producer of multiwall paper and poly-woven packaging products.

Working with lead counsel, Kirkland & Ellis LLP, McMillan acted as Canadian counsel to ProAmpac.
