Max Aicher North America Ltd. (“MANA”) was engaged in an expiry review of anti-dumping duties before the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (“CITT”).

The expiry review was aimed at determining whether anti-dumping duties on concrete reinforcing bars from Belarus, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, Portugal and Spain should continue for an additional five years following the CITT’s finding in 2017.

MANA is a supplier of hot rolled steel bar products to the North American marketplace. As a global leading bar supplier the company has over 3,000 employees across 18 countries.

Expertly led by Peter Jarosz, the McMillan team which also comprises Tayler Farrell and Philip Kariam, was successful in convincing the CITT to renew its finding. The result of which, allows for the continuation of heavy tariffs to be imposed on MANA’s foreign competitors in the listed countries and MANA will be able to benefit from fair competition and higher prices.
