On December 8, 2016, McMillan represented Taseko Mines Limited in its successful defense of an Oppression Remedy Proceeding brought in the course of a proxy contest. The complainant sought damages and other remedies in the multi-millions of dollars. The case was significant in that one of the basic the principles of the Oppression Remedy was affirmed namely that  a complainant shareholder  must demonstrate that the conduct complained of is  unfairly prejudicial or unfairly disregards the interests of the complainant in a unique manner and is not conduct  affecting all shareholders equally.

The McMillan team included Louis J. Zivot and Bernhard Zinkhofer who received assistance from Charlotte Conlin and Brent Ryan.
