McMillan’s Rail Transportation group filed a successful level of service complaint on behalf of Meadow Lake Mechanical Pulp Inc. (“MLMP”) against Canadian National Railway Company (“CN”) decided in MLMP’s favour by the Canadian Transportation Agency (“CTA”) in February 2023.

Subsequently, the team made submissions to the CTA to recover expenses MLMP incurred due to CN’s failures, including in relation to trucking and storage. In October 2023, the CTA ordered CN to compensate MLMP for those expenses.

MLMP is a subsidiary of Paper Excellence Group, which is a diversified manufacturer of pulp, paper and lumber products with facilities across Canada, the United States and France.
