On August 6, 2019, Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and Hôpital Montfort reached financial close on the Orléans Health Hub project, with the hospital awarding a $59.7 million fixed-price contract to EllisDon Infrastructure Healthcare to build and finance the facility.

The project is the first of its kind in Ontario and is expected to drive community-based healthcare thinking across the Province. The project will respond to client needs in a unique and innovative health service model that will bring a wide range of specialized and community services under one roof.

The Orléans Health Hub project involves the construction of a new 96,000 square foot facility in Orléans, a suburb of Ottawa, Ontario. Construction is expected to be complete in spring 2021. Once complete, residents of the Orléans, Ottawa community will have access to coordinated care in a single location and in both languages.

McMillan LLP acted as counsel to the project finance lenders, Bank of Montreal & BMO Capital Markets, in connection with Infrastructure Ontario’s Orleans Health Hub Project, a unique and innovative health services model that will bring a wide range of specialized and community healthcare services under one roof. McMillan led the drafting and negotiation of the Credit Agreement and other project financing documents and negotiation the Project Agreement and the Design-Build Agreement on behalf of the Lenders. The team was led by Ahsan Mirza and included Alex Ricchetti and Shahen Mirakian.
