Canada takes a principles-based approach to regulation of privacy and data protection.  Accordingly, it is important to stay current on how the courts and regulators interpret the legislation that applies to your organization.  In this session, our multi-jurisdictional panel will discuss important court cases and regulatory decisions in the past twelve months.

The Privacy Implications of Artificial Intelligence | 2:05 pm – 3:05 pm

Significant advances in AI have had wide-spread impacts in Canada and worldwide.  Organizations that want to leverage this technology will need to understand potential legal implications. Our panel will discuss privacy compliance considerations for organizations that develop, offer and use artificial intelligence tools, including an overview of how Canada’s current privacy laws apply to AI as well potential future developments. Panelists will also share their observations on the impact of AI in the employment and the M&A spaces.
