2024 Corporate Counsel CPD Webinar Series: Allyship in Action: Cultivating Inclusive Workplace Cultures
In this session, Dr. Sonia Kang, PhD. from the Rotman School of Management, explores practical actions and strategies, based on her expertise in the study of organizational behaviour, that will empower participants to enact meaningful allyship and create inclusive workplace cultures. Participants will leave with actionable solutions for practicing allyship effectively in their work teams as follows:
- Fostering Psychological Safety: Learn how to create a workplace where team members feel safe to take risks, voice concerns, and share ideas without fear of negative consequences.
- Applying the LEAP Framework: Understand how to Listen, Engage, Appreciate, and Provide support to build trust, amplify voices, and advocate for colleagues from underrepresented groups.
- Micro-Interventions: Discover techniques for responding to microaggressions in real-time, disarming bias through micro-interventions such as clarifying questions and separating intent from impact.
CPD: For legal practitioners, this program qualifies for up to 90 minutes of EDI CPD in Ontario, and 90 minutes of CPD in BC, including 90 minutes of Practice Management and 90 minutes of CLE in Quebec.
