Advisory Centre on World Trade Organization Law Selects Canada’s McMillan LLP for Their List of External Counsel
McMillan LLP is delighted to be included on the Advisory Centre on World Trade Organization Law (ACWL) list of external counsel.
The ACWL provides developing countries and Least Developed Countries (LDCs) the legal support they need to access opportunities provided by the WTO. McMillan LLP joins a select group of global law firms that defend the international trade rights of developing countries and Least-Developed Countries (LDCs). This recognition is a testament to the depth of experience and competence of McMillan’s International Trade Group in WTO dispute proceedings and in navigating the complexities of international trade law and litigation. McMillan is further distinguished by the ability to support WTO Members in both French and English.
“Our International Trade team has significant experience in WTO matters and proceedings, and we stand ready to uphold Members’ WTO rights. McMillan is pleased to be included in the ACWL’s select list of external law firms trusted by the organization to provide these services,” said William Pellerin, an expert on international trade law matters at McMillan.
In addition to assisting its members and LDCs directly through its staff, the ACWL provides support through external legal counsel, who must meet specific criteria in order to be included on the select list. External counsel may be called upon to provide support where parties pursuing incompatible objectives request the support of the ACWL on the same matter.
“Being included by the ACWL further demonstrates McMillan’s strength in international trade. We have a strong track record in international trade litigation and look forward to using our expertise to obtain favourable results for developing and LDC Members in WTO litigation through the ACWL,” said Pellerin.
