Enda Wong and Ahsan Mirza Named as Winners in Lexpert’s 2021 Rising Stars Awards: Leading Lawyers Under 40
McMillan LLP is pleased to announce that two firm Partners, were selected this year, to join a distinguished group of the legal industry’s rising stars. Montréal partner Enda Wong and Toronto partner Ahsan Mirza have been recognized as winners of Lexpert’s 2021 Rising Stars Awards: Leading Lawyers Under 40.
Finalists from law firms and in-house legal departments across Canada were nominated by peers on criteria such as professional achievements, community involvement and client service strategy. Lexpert’s distinguished advisory panel carefully considered the contributions of each to select this year’s winners.
Enda Wong is the Montréal leader of the Business Law Group and head of the Montréal corporate services team. Enda’s practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, corporate reorganizations and structuring. Enda regularly advises clients on corporate and commercial matters and her commercial practice includes the drafting and negotiation of complex agreements and other commercial documents and advising on a variety of matters including corporate governance, compliance relating to contests, the Charter of the French Language and other legal issues that clients face on a day-to-day basis. Practicing both common and civil law, Enda has worked on regional, national and cross-border transactions, advising on the similarities and differences between the two approaches on a variety of complex commercial and transactional matters.

Ahsan Mirza is one of the key members of McMillan’s PPP, Infrastructure, Project Finance and Financial Services groups. Over the past few years, Ahsan has played a leadership role, been lead partner or co-lead partner on various transactions that McMillan as acted on. He has extensive experience in project development and financing in the transportation, health and social infrastructure sectors. In addition to in-depth knowledge of the Ontario, BC and Alberta PPP models, he has gained valuable experience from his involvement in major federal infrastructure projects as well as municipal PPP projects. Ahsan has also acted as lead counsel to developers and lenders on various renewable energy project financings over the past few years, while also being actively involved in standard corporate debt financings.
