Georges Dubé joins McMillan’s Toronto office

We are pleased to announce that Georges Dubé will be joining the firm’s Capital Markets and M&A Group, effective June 6, 2016.

Georges joins as partner and will be working out of the Toronto office.

Georges Dubé has a corporate commercial practice with extensive experience in corporate securities, private equity and corporate governance. His practice involves public and private securities offerings, proxy contests as well as mergers and acquisitions, both in the Canadian and cross-border context. He has experience in a number of industries including real estate and REITs, mining, technology and healthcare. Clients include public issuers (large, mid-cap as well as emerging), bank-owned and independent investment banks, activist shareholders, and domestic and foreign acquirers of Canadian public entities. He is often called upon to assist with strategic decisions by boards and acts for special committees and financial advisers of public issuer boards in the context of change of control or related-party transactions.

Georges is a past member of the Ontario Securities Commission’s Securities Advisory Committee. The committee provides advice to the Ontario Securities Commission on legislative and policy initiatives and capital markets trends.

Georges also serves on the board of Slate Office REIT, a Canadian publicly traded REIT. He is consistently recognized by Lexpert® as a leading corporate finance and securities lawyer. He was called to the Ontario bar in 1994 and is a graduate of the Faculty of Law at McGill University. He has an undergraduate degree in foreign service from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.
