Let’s Talk about Courage on International Day of Pink
Every year since 2007, we celebrate the International Day of Pink on the second Wednesday of April. This year on April 12, millions of people wear pink as a symbol to inspire and encourage people across Canada to advocate for change and diversity.
This year’s theme is “courage;” it is about having the courage to stand together as a community and firm to be ourselves and to provide allyship to everyone around us.
The day was first proclaimed in response to two Canadian high school students who witnessed homophobia and bullying towards a student wearing a pink shirt. In support of their classmate, the students rallied the entire school to show their solidarity by wearing pink.
McMillan continues to be committed to creating a culture of equity, diversity and inclusion that always supports the backgrounds, perspectives, experiences and talents of all of our firm members.
