McMillan Named Among Canada’s Top Employers for Young People for the Fifth Consecutive Year
Once again, McMillan is recognized among Canada’s Top Employers for Young People, Mediacorp Canada’s annual competition that acknowledges employers offering the nation’s best workplaces and programs for young people launching their careers.
As in previous years, the 2021 winners were chosen on the quality the programs and value of the benefits they offer to attract and retain younger workers. For instance, the editors evaluate each employer’s mentorship and training programs among other professional development opportunities. They also look favourably on career management programs that help younger workers advance within the organization.
The rise of COVID in 2020 placed even greater importance on technology than in previous competitions. The editors assessed employers’ agility and resourcefulness in facilitating remote daily operations for the safety of employees, and in the delivery of key benefits and training via digital means.
“Receiving this award for five years in a row is a remarkable achievement,” said Teresa Dufort, CEO and Managing Partner of McMillan. “We are grateful to be honoured for fostering a supportive, dynamic and vibrant workplace, and to be recognized for nurturing the professional and personal growth of younger members of the firm.”
Nisha Rider, McMillan’s National Director of Human Resources said, “This award acknowledges the investments we make every day in our young legal and business professionals. It is gratifying to be recognized for our focus on innovation and ongoing improvement in the design and delivery of the firm’s career development, coaching and mentoring, and comprehensive wellness initiatives.”
“An investment in young people is an investment in the future of our firm,” said Marlene Kane, National Director of Professional Development at McMillan. “Winning this award for the fifth consecutive year is a testament to the strength of our commitment to the growth and development of young professionals.”
