Yazhi Zheng is excited to return to McMillan as an articling student, having previously worked as a summer student with the firm.

Yazhi obtained her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Ottawa, where she served as an assistant editor at Ottawa Law Review and led a legal data science project for three years. Yazhi also interned at the CCTS during her studies. In her final year, she worked as a legal researcher at TradeLab, conducting comprehensive research on friend-shoring for a government entity.

Yazhi also holds a Master of Laws from Osgoode Hall Law School with a specialization in international business law. Before her Canadian legal education, she studied law and translation at East China University of Political Science and Law. During her time in China, Yazhi gained valuable experience at a German law firm, focusing on foreign direct investment from Europe to China. Yazhi also passed the Chinese bar exams.
