Amir Kashdaran has over 17 years of experience offering a full range of legal advisory services to national and international companies in a variety of fields, including technology, intellectual property, privacy and data protection, and commercial law.

Amir represents numerous mid-market companies that have developed cutting-edge technologies. He advises them on marketing their products and services, supporting their development and growth strategy, and helping them manage the complexities of highly competitive markets. He offers expertise in complex software licensing, technology, smart products, the development or use of artificial intelligence technologies and is frequently consulted on intellectual property protection, data protection and privacy, and data monetization.

Prior to joining McMillan, Amir was a General Counsel at a global software development company. This background allows him to offer clients a unique and practical perspective, built from real experience. He has in-depth knowledge of software commercialization strategies, intellectual property and trade secret protection, regulatory compliance, cross-border business transactions, complex licensing and professional services transactions, strategic acquisitions, legal and operations management, process automation and internal mandate processing, among others.

  • In-depth understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, system integrations, implementations, and regulatory compliance;
  • Dealing with Data Protection Agreements, data privacy matters, and related policies;
  • Dealing with open-source applications and licensing interpretations;
  • Representation of companies in the FinTech, AdTech, MedTech, LegalTech, e-commerce, video games, and other industries disrupted by technology;
  • Representation of tech-companies in strategic partnerships, co development agreements, professional services, joint venture agreements, value-added reseller agreements (VARs), revenue share agreements, system integration agreements, and others;
  • Transformation of traditional software development companies into “SaaS” businesses;
  • Commercial dispute management, dispute resolution, and litigation, including cross-border trade secret misappropriation litigation.
