Cassandra Buchan is excited to join McMillan’s Vancouver office this summer as a temporary articled student.
Cassandra recently completed her second year of the JD program at the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia. In Cassandra’s first year of law school, she volunteered with the Women’s Caucus to help organize various initiatives, including the annual Suit Up clothing drive. Cassandra also volunteered with Legal Education Outreach to deliver presentations to high school students about the benefits of pursuing a legal education. This past year, Cassandra was the Vice President of Internal Relations for the Allard Sport, Entertainment and Law Society. In this position, Cassandra helped organize social events and educational panels where legal professionals explained their sports and entertainment law practice to Allard students. Next year, Cassandra looks forward to helping revive the Allard Honey Badgers rugby team.
Before attending law school, Cassandra completed a Bachelor of Arts at McMaster University with a major in Political Science, graduating with distinction. During her degree, Cassandra was a research assistant who helped her professor examine the international political implications of small modular nuclear reactors.
Outside of her studies, Cassandra likes playing tennis, practicing ballet, travelling, and spending time with friends and family. Cassandra is also an amateur photographer who enjoys taking photos of the B.C. landscape.
