Claire Lingley specializes in providing business-focused legal advice on regulatory, energy, environmental, and Indigenous matters across various sectors, including energy, mining, infrastructure, and manufacturing. With a proven track record, Claire guides organizations through environmental assessments and permitting processes, while also advising them on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) related risk and opportunities.
Claire routinely negotiates agreements with Indigenous communities and guides clients on structuring equity and joint ventures with Indigenous peoples. In her transactional practice, she assesses environmental and regulatory liabilities, to inform the structuring and drafting of critical agreements.
Claire also has experience in renewable energy project development, including negotiating and drafting project agreements, pre-development agreements and services agreements and has participated in teams negotiating, amongst other projects, the development of renewables-based power generation facilities. This experience is complemented by her understanding of clean fuel standards and regulations.
Claire is active in the legal and wider community and is a member of the Canadian Renewable Energy Association and a mentor for Women in Sustainable Energy.
