As an articling student at McMillan, I am building on the valuable experience I gained as a summer student with the firm. Working closely with McMillan’s talented team, I continue to develop my legal skills in a variety of practice areas.
While earning my law degree at Western University, I enjoyed participating in many of the school’s amazing opportunities. As a case manager with Sport Solution, I assisted Canadian National and Olympic athletes with carding and team selection appeals. One highlight was participating in a Sport Dispute Resolution Centre of Canada appeal arbitration. Outside the clinic, I gained further experience with written and oral advocacy through competitive mooting, judged the Western Law Hockey Salary Arbitration Competition, and represented Western Law as a student ambassador at recruitment events.
I spent the summer after my first year working at the National Hockey League Players’ Association, assisting counsel in all aspects of NHL players’ salary arbitration cases. Prior to law school, I attained a bachelor of arts from the University of Alberta, graduating with first class honours in political science. In the years devoted to my undergraduate studies, I also spent three summers working at Canadian Forces Base Suffield in both public affairs and civilian human resourcing / personnel administrator positions.
In my free time, I am an avid hockey fan. I travelled to Helsinki, Finland to watch the 2016 World Junior Championship. In addition to watching or playing hockey, I love camping, hiking, and playing board games.
