Danielle is excited to return to McMillan as an articling student. She looks forward to continuing to develop her legal skills under the guidance of the firm’s lawyers.

Danielle recently graduated from the Dual Juris Doctor program at the University of Windsor and University of Detroit Mercy. During her second year of law school, Danielle completed a judicial externship for the Honorable Judge Terrence G. Berg at the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. While working as a clerk, Danielle researched and drafted bench memorandum and judicial opinions. Danielle was also a junior member of Detroit Mercy’s Law’s Moot Court team, coaching senior members as they prepared for internal and external competitions. She also competed in an internal competition. During her third year of law school, Danielle worked as a student attorney at Detroit Mercy Law’s Federal Pro Se Clinic where she assisted pro se individuals as they pursued their civil claims in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. Lastly, throughout law school, Danielle worked as the teaching assistant for first-year Dual Juris Doctor legal research and writing and assisted students with their writing assignments and oral advocacy.

Danielle received numerous scholarships throughout law school including the Legacy of Excellence Award, the Canadian-US Dual JD Excellence Award, and the Honorable Lawrence Paul Zatkoff Memorial Scholarship. Danielle was also inducted into the Justice Frank Murphy Honor Society, an award given to students graduating in the top 10% of their class.

Prior to law school, Danielle obtained her Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta and spent 10 years working in advertising and strategic brand management for a variety of advertising agencies and post-secondary institutions. Danielle is also a designated Communications and Advertising Accredited Professional. In 2019, Danielle graduated with an MBA from the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary.

During her spare time, enjoys powerlifting and going for walks and bike rides. When she is not working out, you can find Danielle reading a mystery novel or catching the latest true-crime documentary.
