Daniella is excited to return to McMillan as an articling student after a great summer with the firm.
Daniella recently completed her last year of law school in the Dual JD program at the University of Windsor and the University of Detroit Mercy. She completed a judicial externship for the Honourable Judge Terrence G. Berg at the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, where she assisted with researching and drafting bench memoranda and judicial opinions. Additionally, as a member of the Detroit Mercy Moot Court team, she coached senior team members as they prepared for internal and external competitions. As a junior member, she also completed an internal moot competition. Lastly, as the teaching assistant for first-year Dual JD legal research and writing at Detroit Mercy, She assisted students with Canadian and US legal research, provided writing feedback on both Canadian and US legal writing assignments, and held oral argument coaching sessions as students prepared for both Canadian and US moot competitions.
Prior to attending law school, Daniella obtained her Bachelor of Commerce with a marketing major from the University of Alberta. Upon graduating, she spent the next 10 years working in advertising and strategic brand management for a variety of advertising agencies and post-secondary institutions. During that time, she obtained my designation as a Communications and Advertising Accredited Professional from the Institute of Communications Agencies. She also recently graduated with a Master of Business Administration from the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary.
In her spare time, you’ll find her powerlifting, going for runs along the Detroit River, binge-watching the latest true-crime documentary, or spending time with friends.
