After spending an engaging summer of work and events at McMillan, I am very excited to be back with the firm as an articling student. The opportunity to contribute to significant projects and receive guidance and mentorship from experienced lawyers was invaluable for me. The many meaningful conversations I had with colleagues have aided in my professional and personal growth. I look forward to much more of the same.

In my time at the University of Victoria’s J.D. program, I jumped head-first into a number of ventures. I arranged to bring the Artists’ Legal Outreach program to the island during my first semester and ran monthly clinics right up until I graduated. I was President of the Sports & Entertainment and Intellectual Property law clubs. I also helped start a pilot program with the Sports Dispute Resolution Centre of Canada and ViaSport BC to have law students arbitrate and mediate issues in our provincial sport programs.

In 2012, I obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from the University of British Columbia. I then spent five years living and working in various regions of Asia and Latin America. I returned to North America just twice in that time to run a Bed & Breakfast in Whitefish, Montana for the ski season. The year prior to law school, I taught a reading and writing course at an elementary school and ran a dog-walking business. This past year, I did some work for NBA Canada writing scripts for a series of their commercials.

In my free time, I am an avid reader and writer. I get the most fulfillment from activities that blend physical exertion with time in nature such as surfing, snowboarding, canoeing, or hiking. Deep dives into good TV shows and movies are also key to a full life. Other hobbies include vegetarian cooking, playing the piano, and photography.
