Gemma is excited to complete her articles with McMillan.
Gemma recently graduated from the Juris Doctor program at the University of Victoria (UVic). During her time at UVic, Gemma worked as a research assistant for multiple professors across a variety of legal areas, and had the opportunity to write the first draft of a book chapter on Women’s Health and Canadian Law. As a mentor to new students and a peer tutor, Gemma actively supported UVic students, and helped many students develop the skills and knowledge to go from a failing grade to high final marks. Gemma also served as a member of the Law Student Society at UVic, acting as a social coordinator during the virtual school year. In this role, Gemma planned activities that helped students feel connected to their classmates and school, while being physically apart.
During the summer after 1L, Gemma worked as a policy analyst with the Ministry of Forests, Land, and Natural Resources Operations. She gained experience analyzing Canadian and international legislation, writing many different styles of reports, and providing legal information to the public.
In her spare time, Gemma likes to do ballet classes, cuddle her two cats and host dinner parties with her friends.
