Kyle Smith is a member of the Capital Markets & Securities group with a practice focused on corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, continuous disclosure obligations, and general corporate governance matters for public and private companies.

Kyle joined the firm as a summer student and completed his articles with the firm before being called to the British Columbia Bar in 2023. He graduated from the Juris Doctor program at the University of British Columbia’s Peter A. Allard School of Law (Allard) with a concentration in business law.

While attending Allard, Kyle was involved in several extra-curricular activities. He excelled as a student clinician at the Allard Business Law Clinic, where he provided a broad range of legal services to small businesses, not-for-profits, and start-ups. He volunteered with the Law Students’ Legal Advice Program, where he helped clients in Vancouver’s Downtown East Side to resolve their legal matters. Kyle also acted as the VP External of the Allard Law Rugby Club.

Prior to law school, Kyle completed a Bachelor of Business Administration at Acadia University with a major in finance, where he maintained Dean’s List status throughout his degree. During the summer of his university terms, Kyle worked in various restaurant and senior line cooking positions.
