After graduating from law school from Université de Montréal and completing Québec Bar School, Nikoletta Marcolefas is thrilled to join McMillan as an articling student.

Nikoletta viewed law school as an excellent opportunity to explore as many different fields of law as possible; taking a wide variety of elective courses with some of her favourites being collective labour relations and litigation techniques. She also participated in a case competition, collaborating with a team of students to conduct legal research pertaining to an economic crime and corporate governance case, in order to present the findings to a panel of lawyers.

Nikoletta has a particular interest in employment and labour relations, as this area of law ties in well with the academic background she completed before pursuing a career in law.

Before studying law, Nikoletta completed a bachelor of commerce, with a major in human resource management. After graduating, she worked within the human resource department of a company. Working in such a high-paced HR environment is what sparked Nikoletta’s curiosity for law, as she wanted to learn the legislation that governed work contracts, employee relations and other crucial aspects of conducting business.

In Nikoletta’s free time, she tries to maximize her time spent outdoors and enjoys exploring new restaurants and cafes.
