Having completed my second year at the University of Ottawa, I am excited to join McMillan as a summer student!
Since my first year at the University of Ottawa, I have worked as a research assistant on a legal data science project. Through this project, I have created a data set containing key information about each case filed at the Court of Appeal of Ontario since 2008. This data set has allowed us to systematically analyze various characteristics of over 12,000 cases, such as each judge’s average dismissal rate. In addition to working as a research assistant, I also served as an assistant editor at the Ottawa Law Review, and as a legal intern at the Commission for Complaints for Telecom-Television Services.
Prior to enrolling in the Juris Doctor program at the University of Ottawa, I studied Chinese law and translation at East China University of Political Science and Law in Shanghai, China. I also obtained a Master of Laws at Osgoode Hall Law School with a specialization in international business law.
In my free time, I enjoy playing tennis, running with my border collie, and practicing Chinese calligraphy.
