On September 19, 2012, Teck reached agreement with Westshore Terminals Limited Partnership to extend the parties’ current handling agreement (previously set to expire March 31, 2016) for an additional five year term, now set to expire March 31, 2021. This extended contract will require Teck to ship not less than 16 million tonnes and up to 19 million tonnes of coal per contract year from its six western Canadian coal operations. Teck is the world’s second largest seaborne exporter of steelmaking coal. Teck’s main business segments are coal, copper, zinc and energy products. For the third straight year, Teck was named to the 2012 Dow Jones Sustainability World Index.

Teck was represented on the matter by Vancouver Partner, François Tougas, and by Vancouver Associate, Ryan Gallagher.
