Melanie is developing a broad civil litigation practice and offers support to the Litigation & Dispute Resolution group. Melanie completed her articles at a general practice Alberta firm in Edmonton, independently managing files involving commercial disputes, small claim disputes, construction law files, and real estate and estate administration matters. She earned her JD (with Distinction) from the University of Alberta.

During her legal studies, she volunteered for Pro Bono Law Alberta in the QB Amicus Court Assistance Program, where she provided legal information and assistance to self-represented litigants regarding their matters in Alberta Court King’s Bench. She also volunteered for Student Legal Services in the Legal Education Project where she provided legal information and assistance to individuals in Edmonton’s low income community at Hope Mission and Boyle Street Community Services.
