Thoma Bravo acquires autoTRADER Corporation for C$1.575 billion

On September 28, 2016, Thoma Bravo, LLC, a leading private equity investment firm, acquired TRADER Corporation (autoTRADER), Canada’s leading digital automotive marketplace and software solutions provider, from Apax Partners and management shareholders for approximately C$1.575 billion.

McMillan acted as Canadian counsel to Thoma Bravo on the acquisition and financing, with a team led by Michael Whitcombe and Sandra Sbrocchi (corporate) and included Todd Miller (tax and structuring), Casey Halladay (regulatory), David Thring (financial services), Maria Sagan (financial services), Paul Boshyk (employment), Lyndsay Wasser (pension/benefits/privacy), Peter Giddens (intellectual property), David Ross (real estate), Regina Dilag and Cecilia Tsang.
